AEO

AI Visibility
The measured presence of a brand across monitored AI answers for a defined set of prompts.
Answer Engine
A system that synthesises a direct answer from multiple sources rather than returning a list of links.
Citation
A source referenced by an answer engine when producing a response.
Entity
A distinct thing — a company, product, person, place or topic — that a model can identify and relate to other things.
Structured Data
Machine-readable markup, usually JSON-LD, that states facts and relationships explicitly.
Schema
The vocabulary (schema.org) used to describe entities in structured data.
Knowledge Graph
A network of entities and their relationships used to ground answers in known facts.
LLM
Large language model: the underlying system that interprets a question and generates an answer.
Semantic Search
Retrieval based on meaning and intent rather than exact keyword matching.
Prompt Tracking
Monitoring a defined set of customer questions to observe which brands and sources appear.
Answer Share
The proportion of eligible monitored answers in which a brand appears.
